Casa Mario

Casa Mario is in Cisternino, Puglia, currently listed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, "I Borghi piu belli d'Italia". Located in the "Valle D'Itria" only a few kilometres from the beaches of the Adriatic and surrounded by many interesting tourist attractions and important historical sites: the grottoes at Castellana Grotte, the ancient town of Egnazia, the Trulli's at Alberobello, Ostuni, aptly called the "White City", visit the wildlife haven at Torre Guaceto and the Safari park at the "Zoosafari" near Fasano.

Casa Mario is a house on two floors, from the terrace you can enjoy the views over the roofs of the old town of Cisternino, to the surrounding countryside and the sea. Located on the medieval side of the town of Cisternino, founded in the year 1200 and characterized by its "spontaneous architecture": narrow winding streets, archways and balconies draped with flowers, alleyways and courtyards, spiral staircases, all part of the typical Mediterranean hilltop town, thick stone walls painted a blinding white in contrast to the warmth of the natural stone paving and bright cerulean of the sky.

Casa Mario is a very old building, higher than the surrounding ones, with extra comfort provided by various modern fixtures and fittings: heating system, CD player and radio, washing machine, dishwasher, and air conditioning on the top floor. Its location is fabulous, and the owner's attention to detail has made this a prime target for holidaymakers.

The house is built on two floors, the first at the top of a stone staircase, with a spacious brightfully-equipped kitchen, with a single sofa-bed, ideal for a child; a double bedroom with a large wardrobe, and a bathroom with bath. Outside, there is a terrace with table and sunshade, from where you can enjoy the view across the roofs to the countryside sloping down to the sea.

Up another outer staircase, the top floor has an attic bedroom with air conditioning, a sink, a cooker for making coffee, a shower room and a single bed. Outside, there is a laundry room with a washing machine and handwashing facilities. A highchair is available on request. This is a perfect house either for two people, for a couple with one child or for three adults – at a surprisingly low price
