CalaLuna

CalaLuna is an elegant trullo overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The main body of the building is composed of 5 cones, plus a lounge with a magnificent dry stone vaulted ceiling (called "a botte") and two lamia that flank both ends.

Restored with much love and passion by its owners, CalaLuna strikes you for its rustic elegance whilst still offering all the comforts of a modern house. Conceived as a family home, it has been decorated with furniture and objects sought with patience and time in the craft markets of Apulia, but also of Basilicata, Calabria, Friuli and Switzerland. CalaLuna is waiting for you to ensure that you, in turn, will contribute to bring her to life.

The trullo, built in 1861 only with stones cut by hand and laid dry by the masters trullari (the craftmen of that century), offers today a living area of 105 sqm. It can easily accommodate 6 people and opens onto a large piazzale (yard) of 150 sqm paved with ancient "chianche" facing the Adriatic Sea. To its right, the long blue rectangle of the 15 m pool.

From this impressing terrace "suspended" over endless fields of olive trees that surround CalaLuna, your eyes will glide over the rooftops of Fasano, which will appear in the distance, and on the blue of the Adriatic Sea that you could almost touch with a finger.

CalaLuna is only 2 km away from the town of Fasano and less than 5 km from the Roman excavations of Egnazia, from Savelletri, and from the sea and its beaches.

The main body of the trullo opens on its largest room, "the trullo grande", which cone reaches 8m in height. From here you can access all the other rooms of the trullo: a cozy living room, a large kitchen, two enchanting bedrooms and a beautiful bathroom. A few steps away there is a very comfortable, independent, suite with its own bathroom.

From the trullo grande, through a smaller cone and down a couple of old stone steps, you enter the large kitchen (over 30 sqm) located in one of the two lamia. It has the front entrance opening onto the pool and another entrance giving access to the rear of the house with its small citrus orchard.

The kitchen offers all the necessary modern conveniences. You will find a gas cooker with 5 cooking spots, an electric oven, a large fridge / freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine, TV. A wide range of utensils and crockery for 6 guests are available. A large wooden table can accommodate up to 6 guests.

The room with the vaulted ceiling, with its large and comfortable sofa (120x210cm) that can be used as an additional bed, can eventually host a seventh guest. Perfect for reading or watching a movie, the room is equipped with a digital TV, Sky decoder, DVD-CD player and a wide selection of movies in Italian, French and English. Books, guides and brochures are available for you to read and consult.

The rooms in the trullo (covered by its cone of stones) and the suite are equipped with double beds, with Italian standard measures (160x190 cm). Bed sheets are in pure linen.

The suite is independent from the trullo and is located in the lamia in front of the eucalyptus trees. In addition to the adjoining bathroom, the lamia is equipped with TV and DVD-CD player. In front of it there is a small garden, where you will find an ideal quiet spot to sit and fantasize, in the shade of the eucalyptus trees and overwhelmed by the scent of wisteria. Behind the house, another small garden "hides" an orchard with lemon, orange and kumquat. A delicious scent of thyme emanates from the green grass that covers the red soil of the garden. One of the windows of the suite opens just on the orchard allowing you to breathe its scent while comfortably lying in bed.

Both bathrooms are equipped with shower, washbasin, WC, heated towel radiator. The hot water is generated by our solar energy system. All the bath towels provided to our guests are in pure cotton.

A 15 m swimming pool (with a constant depth of 1.60 m) with a splendid sea view and an outdoor double shower, complete the exterior where you will find deck chairs, sun loungers, mattresses, as well as tables and chairs and parasols. Large beach towels are provided, all in pure cotton.

A barbecue will allow you to fully enjoy the view from the terrace overlooking the pool and the Adriatic sea, where we have installed the outdoor dining area.

Wi-Fi service is available to our guests, free of charge.

An infra-weekly change of linen can be provided and made available on request. This service will be billed separately.
